Proper Tech Term(S)

Recommended Posts

What is the proper technical term for combined or hybrid programming languages and/or techonolgies (which may or may not be severally proprietary) that are used in a proprietary (possibly branded) solution? "Framework" doesn't seem to be correct...but I may be wrong.

Can any of you offer insight on this?

Thx!

I don't think there's a general term for that, but in some particular cases, there is a specific term.

For example, Ajax is the term used to describe the JS XMLHttpRequest object used in combination with a server-side language.
