I am completelynew to php and the approach you took in writing this book demystify thisscripting language. I am stuck on chapter 8 with the topic "USING EXTERNALFILES". I followed everything that was suggested in creating the template however when I runindex.php all I see is the php script in the browser. I am local host server. HartleySan Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 When you say that all you see is the PHP script, do you mean that all you see is your code? If that's the case, then you're not running it through a server. Make sure you use a server package like XAMPP, make sure the (virtual) server is actually running, and then navigate to the correct localhost URL, and it should work fine.
