[Problem With Addoneemployee() Function In Chapter 8]

The code in Step 12 on page 276 doesn't seem to work as written. I get this error:

 

"1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type String to an unrelated type int."

 

It works fine when I typecast the parameter phoneExtTextinput.text as an integer with parseInt().

 

Am I missing something or is this actually an error in the text?

 

I hesitate to suggest that because so far this book has been absolutely flawless.
