kokas
Hello What is the localhost url to access the basic application on finishing chapter 2 of the book?
Antonio Conte
It depends where you install the application inside the htdocs/sites folder.
kokas
I think it's here C:\xampp\yii-1.1.13.e9e4a0\htdocs
Antonio Conte
It should probably be C:\xampp\htdocs\SomeYIIAPP. (Where the last part is the folder you installed YII to) Have you installed YII using the command line yet? Yii needs to be installed, so if you haven't done that yet you can't find it using your browser. The book teaches you how to do this step by step. Let's say it's in the folder exemplified. The URL would then be http://localhost/SomeYIIApp/. Localhost starts looking into the htdocs folder found inside xampp.
kokas
I unzipped Yii at C:\xampp and then used the command line to create the project at C:\xampp\yii-1.1.13.e9e4a0\htdocs. So the project is not at C:\xampp\htdocs\. Shall I move it there to access it?
Antonio Conte
Yes, try that. You might need to change some configuration for it to work at the new directory. If so, a new install might be easier to perform. Your app does need access to the framework folder as an example.
