When i press ctrl+u within <title> tags we have the name of that title name am getting on my default page

Am new in this forum just like i am to yii framework. my default page localhost/opencollege/user/login is giving me a different title as opposed to all other pages which are diaplaying the application name as the title. The latter happened after i edited protected/views/layout/main.php file's html title tag... <title><?php echo CHtml::encode($this->pageTitle);</title>. I am working on an already existing Yii-based website. Help please
