Using Infile Or Some Way To Get Sql Script Into Db

Hi Larry,

I am trying to get the sql.sql. file I downloaded into mysql. It should be something like this mysql -u root -p < sql.sql. But this doesn't work. I have the file in the mysql dir and in the bin. It would be nice to be able to do this from any directory.

I know that there is a way to do this. Which directory do I need to put the file in to make this work? I have seen the command before and got it to work once, but I don't remember which book it was.

You can put the file into any directory you want. You just need to change the command to include the full path to where you put it.
