Xampp Phpmyadmin Not Accessible

i am using xampp for joomla project however i have encountered a problem that i have not been able to resolve although i tried hard..the problem is now i am not able to access my phpmyadmin..apache,mysql,mercury ,tomcat are all running normally without any problem but when i click on phpmyadmin i get the following error msg:
MySQL said: Documentation
#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)


also when i checked the xampp status it displayed the following msg

i am struggling with this problem since last three days and still not able to solve it..it is causing a hindrance in the progress of my project..i also like to inform that after this problem i took a backup of my project and then i unistalled and installed the xampp saveral times still i am not able to solve it..
also i was using wamp earlier when this problem started i thought that such problem may not occur in xampp...i had my joomla wordpress and yii framework used to carry my projects..not able to get acces to my project and work on it since last few days is frustrating me...please guide me

It sounds like you need to change phpMyAdmin's configuration to connect to MySQL. Specifically, the port is probably wrong. You'll need to first find out what port MySQL is using and then change phpMyAdmin's configuration.
